SendFox is a classic bait-and-switch LTD. The headline price is incredible, but the forced double opt-in on the lifetime plan is a dealbreaker for many users — it kills conversion rates, especially if you're collecting leads through other tools that already handle confirmation. The tool works fine for simple newsletter sending to a confirmed list, but the moment you need sophistication you're pushed toward the Empire Plan. For pure simplicity and budget, it works. For anyone serious about email marketing, Mailerlite's free tier or Beehiiv's free plan are genuinely better options.

What's up, Sumo-lings! 🚀 Excited to share that we have a new feature page that allows you to submit feature requests, see what other people are wanting, and upvote existing ideas. 🕺 In addition, this site also showcases our roadmap. So you can see what we're planning to build next. 🤗 Keep in mind, there are things that *aren't* included on our roadmap that we still launch. Especially around bug fixes, quality-of-life improvements, and small tweaks. So we're ALWAYS working on SendFox for you. 🦊 👉 Here's the link to submit and view product requests, and see the roadmap: https://roadmap.sendfox.com/

What works

  • Most affordable email marketing tool available — $49 lifetime for 5,000 contacts vs. Mailchimp's $50+/month
  • Simple and intuitive — built for creators who aren't email marketing experts
  • RSS auto-pull feature — automatically generates newsletters from your content
  • Built-in landing pages and opt-in forms — no separate tool needed
  • Good deliverability out of the box — no need to set up your own SMTP server

Watch out for

  • Forced double opt-in that can't be disabled on the lifetime plan — requires upgrading to the Empire Plan
  • Limited email template design — can't save templates without upgrading, basic WYSIWYG editor
  • Customer support is criticized widely — canned responses, slow replies, AI chatbot that doesn't understand issues
  • Smart Pages don't integrate properly with automations — leads can fall through the gaps
  • Account deletion is deliberately difficult — buried buttons and broken credentials when trying to close

How it compares

ToolTypeNotes
MailchimpMainstreamIndustry standard, much more powerful, but $50+/month for similar contact counts.
ConvertKit (Kit)MainstreamCreator-focused like SendFox but far more capable. $33/month for automations. Better templates, deliverability, and support.
BeehiivMainstreamFree up to 2,500 subscribers with API access, recommendation network, and monetization tools.
MailerliteMainstreamFree up to 1,000 subscribers with full automation and beautiful templates. The free tier alone is more capable than SendFox's lifetime plan.
